About the Course

Are you struggling to manage cats with feline infectious peritonitis? This course is designed to provide you with all the essential knowledge and tools to effectively manage and treat this complex disease. This practical course will bring you completely up to date on the treatment of feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) and give them confidence to diagnose and manage affected cats. The course will explain differences between feline enteric coronavirus (FECV) and feline infectious peritonitis virus (FIPV), the pathogenesis of FIP as well as most common, and unusual, clinical signs. The course will explain the different diagnostic tests for FIP available in practice with emphasis on most useful tests and any limitations. This course will also discuss new options for FIP therapy including different antivirals (dosages and adverse effects) and immunomodulatory drugs. and as well as monitoring during treatment and possible complications of FIP therapy with antivirals. We will also discuss Managing complicated cases of FIP is discussed, as well as what to do if cats are not responding to medications, relapses of FIP and management of comorbidities such as IMHA, sepsis, pneumonia etc. Last but not least the course will cover supportive care for FIP cats as well as how to best support, and communicate with, their caregivers.
